About Me

Hi creature!

My name is Raquel, I'm a nature-inspiring artist living in Utah with my lovely husband, and two fluffly cats name Emi and Bella.
I run a tiny art business, PurpleMothix, creating whimsical, nature based artwork. Inspired by the nature surrounding me, you will often see flora, insects especially moths and other animals in my work.
My style is influenced by pop culture, indie games and animations such as Legend of Zelda, and Ghibil movies. 
Music plays a big role in my creative process and helps shape the mood and storytelling behind each piece. Creating small playful artworks to bring a little charm and magic into everyday life.

• Clip Studio Paint
• Affinity Designer
• Regular hot press watercolor paper (doesn't matter the brand)
• Lots of different sketchbooks
• Acrylic markers by Arrtx
• Alcohol markers by Ohuhu
• Gouache paints by Turner, Winsor & Newtons, or Holbein 
• Variety of pens, colored pencils and water inks
